A well-planned itinerary of this North East tour package includes all the must-visit destinations like Kolkata, Dibrugarh, Mon, Mokokchung and Kohima. Start your journey by visiting some of the popular tourist attractions in Kolkata including Sundarbans, Victoria Memorial, Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Eden Gardens. Mon tourism promotes a study of geography and culture of the region. Mon district is a home to the Konyak Nagas tribe which is famous for its tattooed faced locals. Longwa Village and Shangnyu Village are some of the must-visit tourist places in Mon. Another important destination in Nagaland is Mokokchung, which is a home of the Ao Naga Tribe. Later, arrive at the terminus of this Tribal tour package by visiting the Kohima-the Capital City of Nagaland. Here, backpackers can explore some of the popular tourist places such as Kisama Heritage Village, Nagaland State Museum and Kohima War Cemetery. North-East can be best explored from October to April every year. For all the nature and wildlife lovers, a trip to North-East should be on the bucket list.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Dibrugarh

Arrival Dibrugarh, meet upon at the airport and transfer to the hotel. later we have City sightseeing and Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2: Dibrugarh - Mon District

After breakfast drive to Mon 200 km, 7hrs, the District headquarter of Mon District situated at an altitude of 897.64 meters above sea level. It is the home of the Konyaks tribes. Here it is interesting to see the tattooed faces wearing feathered headgear and traditional dress. Konyaks are adept artisans and skilled craftsmen. Here you can find excellent wood carvings, daos (Machetes), guns, gunpowder, headgears etc. Check-in to the hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 3: Mon District

After morning breakfast will visit typical Konyak tribal village, Shangnyu. Ruled by the chief Angh, it is one of the prominent villages of the Mon District. There is a wonderful wooden monument measuring 8ft. in height and 12 ft. breadth which is believed to be constructed by heavenly angels. Carvings of human beings and other creatures are engraved on this monument. Also visit Konyak Murungs, where one can still see the collection of human skulls. Konyaks were headhunters in the olden days and used to keep the enemy's head as a trophy. Dinner and Overnight stay

Day 4: Mon - Mokokchung

After breakfast drive to Mokokchung, the district headquarter situated at an altitude of 1325 meters above sea level. This picturesque town is the cultural center of the Ao Nagas. The AO warriors used to wear the beautiful black and red hand-woven shawl with its white decorated band to signify their prowess over their enemies. The two main festivals of AO's are Moatsu in early May and Tsungremmong in August. Check-in to the hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 5: Mokokchung - Kohima ( 180 Kms/ 07 Hrs )

After breakfast drive to Kohima the state capital and hill station which is situated at an altitude of 1444 meters above sea level 180km, 7hrs drive. Check-in to the hotel. Dinner andOvernight stay.

Day 6: Kohima

After breakfast visit to Khonoma, an Angami tribal village. 20 km towards the west of Kohima, the village has its own traditions of valor and courage. History reveals that khonoma provided protection to several villages in good old days. The village gate tells the story of the British infiltration into Naga. Hills. War Cemetry: A symbolic memorial raised as a citation for the supreme sacrifices by the officers and man during the IInd World War. Museum: The state Museum treasures rare collection of articles of different tribes which speak about the history and tradition of the Nagas. Also, visit to the local market. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Kohima War Cemetery - Kohima Zoo - Kohima Museum - Naga Heritage Village, Kisama

Day 7: Kohima - Dimapur Airport Departure

After breakfast transfer to Dimapur airport, 75km 3 hrs drive, board flight for onward journey.
